No Man Shall Stand Against Me
The focus for this week is ‘Declarations of the child of God’. There are several declarations that we can make and stake claim to, however this week we will be focusing on a few important ones. Everyone has some sort of declarations, politicians have theirs, ambassadors have theirs and such. There are declarations that are also God aligned.
Psalm 107:2 says, ‘Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story— those he redeemed from the hand of the foe,’
The redeemed of the Lord must not just speak anything but must speak in accordance with the scriptures. Our life will go after the prominent thoughts in our lives, and our lives will follow that thought trajectory. This ensures that you grow in accordance to the will and guidance of the Lord. Whatever we think repeatedly will shape our lives. When we think certain thoughts repeatedly, neural pathways are created in our brain which become thought patterns. When these thought patterns gain prominence in our minds, we also tend to speak them out. The verse in Psalms says, ‘Let the redeemed of the Lord say so’ which are things that are in the scriptures, in faith, things that are good, pure and everlasting.
One of the declarations that you should often say out loud is ‘No man shall stand against me’.
This statement is taken from Joshua 1:5 that says, ‘No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.’
A fear that is very dominant in many of our lives is the fear of enemies and fear of man. To surpass this, God has given us a few tools. God says that ‘No will be able to stand against you all the days of your life’. What a promise we have in Jesus!
This statement was told to Joshua, who was Moses’s right hand. In fact, it was only Caleb and Joshua that entered the promised land of God. Joshua completed the rest of Moses’s ministry. This was a promise that the Lord gave Joshua.
This statement also means that many will rise up against you as your enemies but they will not sustain. When God arises the enemies will be scattered. Always remember that, our enemies are God's enemies. The battle belongs to the Lord. A proof of this commitment and promise is displayed all throughout the Old and New Testaments. God’s promise to Joshua was that - No man shall ever stand against you and God will be there with him, just like he was there for Moses and more than anything our God says, he will never leave you, nor forsake you. While this promise was given to Joshua, I believe that this promise transcends all generations and all ages to anyone who rises up to do the Lord’s work.
Isaiah 2: 22 says, ‘Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?’
Do not put your trust in or fear humans. After all they are alone merely because of the breath in their nostrils. Many might rise against you, or challenge you, but do not fear them. If God is the one protecting you, keeping you safe then why should you fear? God is your pillar of strength. It is only when we lose sight of this promise that fear overtakes our minds.
If the children of God are camped at a spot, Lord himself will come there and camp with you. Wherever the children of Israel camped for the night, God was always right there with them. Believe that your house is a Bethel which means it is the house of God. Beth means house and el means God. The house of a child of God is God's house. God lives in your house, the Holy Spirit resides in your home.
When God enters a home, there is an entourage that follows him which includes the angels from heaven. Even if you are not able to see God in your home with your physical eyes, believe that there are guardian angels in your home. However it is when we don’t believe in these things and live as though we are normal, ordinary beings that we lose hope and courage. God is with you and victory is already yours as you are not winning by your hand, but through the mighty hand of God on you. Your enemies might come at you in one direction and flee from you in seven.
