Unbelievable News
Yesterday we had an overall look at Isaiah 61. Today we shall study it in more detail. Just like how Paul told Timothy to “rightly divide the Word” (2 Timothy 2:15), we will be looking at this scriptural passage in pieces.
For example; when it is time to eat, a loaf of bread is sliced into pieces. Similarly, the Word is the bread of life and we need to rightly divide the Word!
There are 66 books in total in the Bible. The structural design of the Bible indicates that the first 39 books in the Old Testament are the essence of God’s approach to people and sin. In the following 27 books, we see the New Testament essence.
Isaiah had the revelation of the way of the Lord being prepared and how the Messiah is coming. After the Messiah comes, we see the usage of the term “My Servant” multiple times. After the arrival of the Messiah, the Kingdom was established and a new sky was being made. Isaiah wrote about all of this 700 years before Christ was born and fulfilled the revelation!
The time period from Adam to Abraham was the time of the ‘Father’s age/dispensation’. Roughly 2000 years later, during the period from Abraham to Jesus’ time the emphasis was on the ‘Son’, the children of Israel and the sons of prophets. After Christ, from the day of Pentecost and another 2000 years later, we are living in the period where the emphasis is on the Holy Spirit.
WE ARE LIVING IN THE AGE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!
There has been no other time period like this one where the Holy Spirit lives in us, He walks with us and He guides us. The Holy Spirit wishes to live in us and offer residential help. It is like having an inbuilt GPS in our lives. This is the end of the ages and we need to be vary!
Let us read Isaiah 61:1-3
