Will God Forgive My Sins Committed After I Got Saved?
These days we have been learning about God’s amazing grace. In the present day, the gospel is widely misunderstood. Most people don’t know further than the fact that Jesus died for our sins on the cross. They celebrate Christmas as the birth of Jesus, Good Friday as the death and Easter as the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Everything else is meaningless for them.
The Gospel is something beyond our imagination and understanding. According to its original Greek word it means an unbelievable good news. But people choose to believe only some things from the Gospel, not the entire thing.
Let us dive into the Scriptural passage in Romans 4:4-8;
(4) Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. (5) However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. (6) David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: (7) “Blessed are those whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. (8) Blessed is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”[a]
GOD JUSTIFIES THE UNGODLY!
It is in Christ that all our sins and shortcomings are taken away, healed and forgiven. God will not hold the number of sins committed against us! He loved us even when we lived our lives as sinners and gave His life for us to live. Even after receiving His salvation, we all fall into the hands of sin. There is no one in the world who has not sinned. In the Bible, even the apostles after becoming apostles and following Jesus, fell into sin.
Let us see how this sin is handled by the grace of God in Romans 5:8-11;
(8) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (9) Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! (10) For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! (11) Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
We have sinned countless times even in our thoughts, actions and words. It is impossible to find a human who has not sinned after receiving Jesus till the day they die! Some sins we commit unconsciously and some are conscious sins.
But as it’s written in verse 9, we will still be saved and redeemed from our sins especially now since we have been justified by His blood. God is a forgiving God in every situation of your life! This scripture should be the answer to the taunts of Satan who will come into your life and try convincing you that you will be forsaken by God because of your sins. But Our God is a faithful God and we have victory in Him!
GOD IS IN LOVE WITH YOU!
So go forth and boast and live in His love!
