The Garment Of Praise
Isaiah 61 is a Scriptural passage from which we ought to derive and receive all the anointings into our lives mentioned there. Changes might not always come right at the very instant in our lives. Sometimes, change takes time so we need to have patience and perseverance. This is a lifetime process of taking in the Word of God into our life little by little and applying it. We will not see a sudden change just by attending a church seminar or by reading a book in the Bible. We need to be consistent and patiently persist.
DON’T BE JUST A SUNDAY CHRISTIAN!
Today we are reading from Isaiah 61:3 and focusing on - and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
The fall of man caused by the act of disobedience by Eve and Adam in the Garden of Eden is the catalyst for all the negative emotions and heaviness that we face today as mankind. Perhaps, if Adam and Eve had children before their fallout with God then the generations would live a sinless life. But, they had their children only after the fall and we know the story of the two brothers; Abel and Cain. Imagine the hurt inside Eve as a mother when her first-born murdered her second son.
Even before this, Adam and Eve faced sadness after being separated from God. Imagine you are in a close and loving relationship with God. Taking daily walks, talking with Him and enjoying life with Him. Then one day due to your disobedience, God turns away from you and you feel the pain of separation from God. This is the first pain, rejection and sadness Adam and Eve experienced. They were banished from the Garden of Eden!
Emotions such as grief, sorrow, despair, depression, disappointment, dejection and so on have been deposited into the lives of man. Even newborns are susceptible to prenatal depression, some are born with the heaviness of the heart. They are born inheriting sadness.
The solution to finding joy lies in the anointing of Jesus. We need to receive this impartion from Jesus into our lives.
Romans 14:17 says For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,
We find joy when we are full of the Holy Spirit! This means the Holy Spirit residing in us and flowing through us not only during a worship service in church.
John 20:22 says And with that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit will flow through us in many different ways; our words, our actions, etc. When we have the joy of the Holy Spirit, we will always be praising God. That is when we wear and adorn the garment of praise. Praise, thanksgiving, and worship are all different from each other.
The garment of praise is one of the greatest anointing that we can receive from Jesus!
