Shameless Faith
This week our focus is on how to approach God. First thing we need to understand is that we don’t need to put on extra makeup or adorn expensive clothing when we come into God’s presence. Everything is open and transparent before the penetrating eyes of God.
For it is written in Hebrews 4:13; Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
So come to Jesus just as you are!
We also discussed having blind faith. Hebrews 11:6 says And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Then we discussed coming to Jesus with a power tapping faith.
Take the story of Jacob, he wrestled with God and said that he will not leave without receiving His blessings! And further on in his life story we see the great changes brought about in his life.
It is better to receive the inheritance of God than the tips of man!
Romans 10:17 says Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.
Faith is born inside each of us through listening and hearing. Another thing we need to understand is that we can create the faith for the Word of God inside of us. Testimonies can increase and boost faith. The Word produces faith and testimonies increase faith. And faith pleases God!
Matthew 15:21-28
The Faith of a Canaanite Woman
(21) Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. (22) A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”
(23) Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
(24) He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
(25) The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
(26) He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
(27) “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
(28) Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.
This faith that the woman depicted is what I call shameless faith! There is no need to try to impress God with your outward looks, for He looks deep inside of us. We need to adopt the faith of the Canaanite woman!
