Keys To Open Heaven 5: Obedience
Psalm 112:1 says Praise the Lord. Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands.
As I had mentioned earlier, the operating system of the Old Testament was fear. People followed and obeyed out of fear of the wrath of God.
We read in John 14:15,“If you love me, keep my commands.
In the New Testament, it is written clearly that we follow and obey out of the love we have for Him! 1 Corinthians 13 talks all about love. Love is the operating system even for the gifts of the Holy Spirit. So, if we love God, then obedience will also follow. And this obedience is a key to open heaven!
Jesus was obedient till His death. Obedience open doors for us in our lives, we find that God is pleased with us, our lives are filled with His anointing and blessings.
Take the story of Noah. God asked him to build an ark, and gave Noah the blueprint for the same. But the fact was that rain was not yet experienced by the people at that time. There was no monsoon season there. So, naturally Noah was called insane for making allegations of rains and floods. But Noah persevered and obeyed. He did not pay heed to what others said or thought, he blindly obeyed God.
2 Corinthians 5:7 says For we live by faith, not by sight.
Just like Noah, Abraham and many before us, we also need to have blind faith and blind obedience! This type of faith and obedience pleases God and from that there will be the open heaven experience.
Philippians 2:8 says And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!
We need to give the top priority to what God likes and what He wills. We need to be submissive toward Him in our lives. More than our elders, family members and anyone in the world!
