Open Heaven, Open Vision
Proverbs 29:18 says Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.
It is written in this Scripture portion that one perishes without visions. One does not perish due to the lack of money, or if there is bad health. So, change your prayer points and ask God for more visions in your life. It is through the Holy Spirit that we receive visions in life. God has given eyes only to those creations which can move. For example, a tree, mountain etc. does not have eyes. Creatures which need to move from one place to another, God has given them eyes.
Ezekiel 1:1 says Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.
Ezekiel started seeing visions when heaven was open. So, when there is an open heaven, we will also receive visions from God. God gives us the right visions of the glory of God, things we have never seen before. Our life will change completely when we get the vision about who God is. Our focus in life will also change.
Some people have spiritual short-sightedness. They are only able to see what is in front of them and not focus on the long term plans of God.
A person who has vision will have a different life. They will not live an ordinary, day to day life. They ultimately serve a long-term purpose.
Acts 10:11-16 says
(11) He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. (12) It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds. (13) Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”
(14) Surely not, Lord!” Peter replied. “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean.”
(15) The voice spoke to him a second time, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean.”
(16) This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.
This vision changed Peter’s life, his ministry, his attitude, his course of life was completely changed! He learnt that the gentiles also have been accepted by God and he has access to them. The vision changed the course of christian church and history. This is the power of a heavenly vision.
