Never Stop Hearing God’s Voice
Faith is the capital of a believer and faith comes by hearing the Word of God. God speaks in different ways - it could be His audible voice/ through the Spirit of God/ through angels/ through our own conscience/ through circumstances/ through this world. God can even speak through a donkey.
John 10:27
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
We are what God says about us. Self realisation solves most of the problems; not the price tag that others give us. That’s why Jesus said to be careful of what you hear - whether it's the Spirit’s voice/ Satan’s voice/ secular voice/ self-voice.
Psalm 46:10
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
If you can still all other voices, you can listen to the voice of God. Jesus’ seven ‘I Am’ statements were based on the Father’s voice. Our confession is the expression of God's voice that we receive. Never stop hearing God’s voice.
We must not only hear God’s voice but we must also obey it.
1 Kings 17:2,3
Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.”
When the brook dried up, God’s voice came again to him to go to another place. Had he not heard God’s voice again and obeyed it, Elijah would have been starved to death.
1 Kings 19:5-8
Then he lay down under the broom bush and fell asleep. All at once an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.” He looked around, and there by his head was some bread baked over hot coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then lay down again. The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said, “Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.” So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he travelled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God.
Your progress is based on the voice that you hear continually. Never miss out on church fellowships. You can clearly hear God’s voice when the Word is being ministered.
Genesis 22:1,2
Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”
Isaac was about 33 years old (calculated by taking different chapters into consideration) when his 133 years old father, Abraham, took him up the mountain to sacrifice him.
Genesis 22:11,12
But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”
If Abraham hadn’t heard God’s voice the second time, he would have killed his only son, Isaac. This is why it’s significant to continually hear God’s voice. Don’t live on yesterday’s voice. Don’t live on yesterday’s revelation. Live on today’s voice.
The Holy Spirit is the bringer of God’s voice. Many people know the Holy Spirit only theologically/ Scripturally; but relationally, the Holy Spirit may be imprisoned within us. The Holy Spirit was sent only to upgrade our prayer life, our revelation and the entire life.
Intimacy with the Holy Spirit is the key.
Elijah heard a still small voice. In order to hear God’s still voice, we need to draw close to Him.
