Overcome the Fear of Death
As per studies every human being has almost 60,000 thoughts a day. Our mind is a thought factory. Out of these 60,000 thoughts, how many thoughts are positive and negative? How many of your thoughts give you happiness, hope, peace, joy, courage, and faith? Hence, it is important to change our thinking and reset our mind, if need be. Our life will turn to the direction of our prominent thoughts.
As we go on with our lives, we must have hope.
Zechariah 9:12
‘Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.’
I’ve often heard that the fear of a horrible future is the worst kind of hopelessness. The fear that something terrifying could happen in the future is probably the worst kind of hopelessness. This fear and hopelessness could pull you down and cause anxiety in the person. There are people who often see nightmares of awful things happening to them and the people around them. They could wake up in sweats and panic. To people in such instances, I say, when you wake up, sever your relationship with this nightmare and pray to get rid of such thoughts. For 99% of the time, these thoughts are not from God, but from the devil.
John 10:10 clearly states that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy while what God desires for us is written in Jeremiah 29:11 which says, ‘For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’
Our Father God, makes plans to help us prosper, whereas the devil tries to devise ways for our fall. He’s a liar, a murderer, a proud fallen angel that only hopes for the destruction of God's people. Hence, do not believe in all your nightmares. Pray against such nightmares and bathe yourself in the protection of Jesus’s blood and do not believe in the disturbing dream. The blood of Jesus is an eraser that cleanses and forgives our sins unlike human blood that stains our clothes. Psalm 91 is a powerful protection prayer that you can always read out loud and pray with.

‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.’
The verse starts by saying that the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. But the purpose of Jesus is to give us a wholesome life. Whenever we worry what happens is that we keep Jesus away from our life. When we keep Jesus out of our life, worry creeps in, fear creeps and hopelessness creeps in. Be mindful of your thinking, always. Believe that Jesus is with you and you are never alone. Believe that Father God is with us along with Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the angels are upholding us in prayer, petition and protection.
If you grow spiritually, with a strong bond with God, then death becomes an almost exciting prospect to you. R Stanley once said that, the fear of death is because of our shallow relationship with God. If you have a close relationship with God, you will not be afraid, rather you will look forward to it in excitement. A fellow disciple of God, was sent to Vietnam for the war at the young age of 20. During that time he had an encounter with God and he was absolutely thrilled. While he was living in the bubble of love from God, he prayed ‘God, let today be the day I die so that I can see you soon’.
Do not fear, for the Lord is with you!
