Repentance

Today we will focus on repentance.
When someone is struggling with not receiving their inner healing, it may be because of two main areas that need to be healed. One is Repentance and the other is Forgiveness.
Repentance can be understood as a change in mind and healing process will happen only if we have repented. The other is forgiveness which is also a gateway to healing.
Let's look into Repentance. In the New Testament we see John the Baptist, Jesus and Peter emphasized on first seeking Repentance.
2 Corinthians 7:10
For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 10 For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.
In general terms we can define Repentance as a radical change, a change in routine agenda. It can also be defined as thinking differently.
Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
Peter says we all should change and grow in Christ. We should be able to think differently and according to the Word of God. Repentance is a gift of God .
We cannot repent easily without the help from God and only if God grants us this gift we can accept or receive the repentance. If we are in a sinful practice there is no guarantee that we will be able to come to repentance as sometimes our heart can be so hardened.
Galatians 6:6
One who is taught the word must share all good things with the one who teaches
Jesus will always be ready to forgive us but Satan if allowed to enter then we may have to face the consequences as at times our heart and mind become so used to the sinful nature and become hardened. Never play with sin but be careful as the results may be awful.
We can only accept repentance if we truly confess our wrongs and sinful life.
Confession means truly taking ownership of our sins. We often tend to blame others for our sins. We should throw ourselves into God's mercy. Remember God is so rich in mercy.
Whenever we confess and repent we see a miracle happen and all evil will leave.
Jesus is our advocate.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”
Repentance has a logical and emotional part. If you teach a child to say sorry whenever he makes a mistake then he will make use of this word as a habit and license to do wrong and say sorry afterwards.
The value of true repentance is lost if we keep doing wrong and confessing. When we repent we should feel the pain and accept the repentance fully . Always examine yourself and your sin. Figure out what our responsibility is to know this. We must understand that when we sin the Holy Spirit grieves and Jesus sees and is deeply saddened by our acts.
Inner healing will only happen if we truly repent.
Another is forgiveness, the New Testament is a perfect example of a book of forgiveness
Mathew 18:23
23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wants to settle accounts with his servants. debt and let him go.
Forgiveness is only granted by Jesus and he has told us we can be forgiven limitless times. We will look into this later in detail.
Luke 21: 19
Stand firm, and you will win life
Ephesians 4:31-32
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
