Acceptance

Many parents raise their children out of ignorance, following what they saw in their own parents. But the Bible teaches us how to be a parent!
Neglect and lack of love in childhood can affect a child immensely. So can a lack of acceptance. Many people still operate out of the wounds caused in their childhood.
Right from when we are in our mother's womb, our mind is conscious. Whatever the mother feels, gets imparted to the child. So it is important to pray over the child right from inception and to speak godly words over them.
However, if you were neglected in your childhood, God still has plans for you!
We see the stories of Rachel and Leah, how God took them in when they were rejected by others.
Genesis 29:31
“And when the Lord saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.”
Leah then turned out to be an ancestor of Jesus!
We see the life of Joseph. He was rejected by his family and sold by his brothers. But we also see how God raised him to a position of honour!
David was considered the weakest among his brothers. When the prophet came to select the next king, David was sent to shepherd the sheep instead of being presented to the prophet. But God chose him as king and blessed him!
In Luke 15, we see the story of the prodigal son who asked his father for his inheritance and went away to squander his wealth. But when everything went downhill, he thought of returning to his father.
If parents can be such that their children feel safe enough to run to them when they fail, the parents have succeeded. This child will never reject themselves or give up on their lives.
Parents should love their children, simply because they are their child, and not because of their marks or talents or success. They should always accept their children.
When the prodigal son returns, the father runs to accept him just as he is. No matter our situation and our sin, we should never doubt God’s love for us. Nothing can decrease His love for us. When we return to Him, he only raises us to greater heights.
God loves us according to the cross, not based on our works!
If you raise your children for the Lord, your children will be by your side till the end.
No matter who rejects us, God will always accept us and can raise us up because He loves us.
